Brandon’s charm isn’t just reserved for the center village. In less than 15 minutes you can be hiking the Long Trail or biking through covered bridges; relaxing at a lakeside beach or attacking the mountain bike paths; cross country skiing or snowshoeing in winter; sipping wine in our 2 local wineries or tasting Foley Bros craft beer.  You can golf 9 or 18 holes at a very reasonable rate or pick up plants for your garden and fresh organic vegetables at the farm stand. The number and variety of things to do within just a few minutes is definitely noteworthy. Here’s a list for your consideration:

Wood’s Market – Our own local organic farmstand with produce, meats, cheeses, plants, even pots.

Maple View Alpacas – Raise and breed alpacas, visitors welcome, fiber mill/store on site.

Neshobe Golf Club – 18 holes, very reasonable fees, plus delightful lunch.

Pinewood Gardens – Family-owned/operated garden center, always have the new cultivars.

The Long Trail – Yes, in less than 15 minutes you can park and be on the Long Trail.

Sanderson Bridge – Brandon’s own covered bridge just outside of town.

BARN OPERA House - Just beyond the Sanderson Bridge is a renovated barn turned theatre, housing world-class opera

Brandon Music – Charming music café in a barn, daily tea, live performances.

Neshobe River Winery – Their own vineyard and tasting room, reds and whites, delightful location overlooking the golf course.

Foley Brothers Brewery – In partnership with Neshobe River Winery, they can’t keep up!

Otter Valley Winery – No kidding- Brandon has 2 wineries.  Just out of the village on Route 7 South with a tasting and gift room.

Compass Music and Arts Center – Exhibits, café, recording/practice space, performance.

Wildlife Management Area – Walkers welcome, great birding and even wild turkeys.

Branbury State Park– On Lake Dunmore with swimming, kayaking, and boating. Rentals available at the Park along with camping, cabins, and picnic areas

Blue Ledge Farm–  A prize-winning, artisanal cheese maker of fine goat cheeses and Ayrshire cows’ milk cheese with milk from neighboring Crawford Family Farm.

Blueberry Hill Ski Center –  over 65 kilometers of trails in the Green Mountain National Forest with skis and snowshoes for rent, a cozy warming house, and fresh cookies. Also great hiking in the summer and fall.
